We are blessed by a great team of people who serve Trumpington church as ordained people.
Re-licensing Saturday 26 May
Marguerite Roberts will be among other 'self-supporting ministers' who will be re-licensed/re-titled as Associate Priests by Bishop Stephen at Great St Mary's church in Cambridge on Saturday 26 May, 5.30pm. It would be great if we could support her at this service and take this opportunity to thank God, and her, for her generous and gifted ministry with us.
Ordination Saturday 30 June
Steve Harris will be ordained priest on 30th June at 3.30pm in Ely Cathedral. He and his family invite us to join him for tea and cake at the Old Fire Engine house (near the cathedral) after the service. He has been serving his curacy with us for the past year as a Deacon and we look forward to his continuing ministry with us as a Priest. He will preside at communion for the first time on 1 July.
Also on 30 June, in the morning, our new curate Amanda will be ordained Deacon at Ely Cathedral. This is a great day for Trumpington and we hope and pray it will be for her too!
Fairtrade stall for Traidcraft and cafe & raffle for Christian Aid.
Thank you to everyone who supported this and who popped by for a cuppa. It was great to have the church open for the afternoon.
Christian Aid Curry Night
£409 was raised for Christian Aid at a fantastic curry night. Thank you to our social committee and the curry supplier, as well as for the beautiful sari demonstration. A generous offer was made to match sponsorship for Andy's attempt for Christian Aid at the Edinburgh marathon, if he joined the ladies dressed in saris. Photos to follow!
Quiet Day
Thank you to our friends at St Mark's Newnham, and St Mary and St Andrew Grantchester, for our joint Quiet Day at Ely. Especial thanks to Alan Hargrave (Canon Missioner for Ely Diocese) who led us in the day's theme 'Living Well'. A similar event may take place in the future, so watch this space. You can read more about Alan's book 'Living Well' here.
