Thursday 6.45pm-7.45pm, in the church
With Daniel Trocmé-Latter and Gareth Atkins
Trumpington Church Choir meets on Thursday evenings in term-time to rehearse a wide range of traditional and more modern liturgical music. We sing at the Sunday Eucharist and at the monthly service of Matins, as well as at the occasional Choral Evensong, sometimes jointly with other churches in Cambridge. Daniel Trocmé-Latter (The Director of Music) is always keen to hear from those interested in joining. If you enjoy singing and are interested in becoming a member, please e-mail the Director of Music.
Thursdays 6.00pm-6.45pm (in school term-time) at the Bakehouse,1a Grantchester Road
With Sarah Atkins, Emma Hopegood, Daniel Trocmé-Latter and Gareth Atkins
We are a growing, happy bunch of singers from primary school year 1 upwards with age/ability specific training groups as well.
We sing new and familiar songs and learn more about how to sing. We perform at the All Age services once a month where we not only get a chance to showcase our singing, but also add joyful music to this lively service. We are also seen at local events such as Summer fairs. Anyone who enjoys singing (or who wants to enjoy it more!) is welcome. If you would like to join us, please e-mail Sarah Atkins. On Thursdays parents etc. are welcome to stay for a coffee and chat while we sing.
Please see our Junior Choir page for full details of events this term.
Music for babies and toddlers each Wednesday 9.30am-10.30am. More details here.
We would love our worship on Sundays to reflect the musical skills of our congregation. Are you interested in playing at the All Age services along with other instrumentalists? Could you play reflective music during communion? Please e-mail the Director of Music if you would like to find out more.
After its success in 2011, the 'Music in Trumpington' concert series at St Mary and St Michael's will resume in April 2012. Click here for more details.
Previous recitals and other arts events have included a concert from a top-class pianist and cellist, organ recitals and a one-man dramatic reflection based on the life, letters and poetry of John Donne. In 2010 our charity Christmas Big Sing involved several different choirs from around Cambridge, two organ recitals, and an evening concert.
